Off to the Moon for Choir and Symphony Orchestra

Off to the Moon was composed for the BBC Proms, and first performed in the Royal Albert Hall, London at the CBeebies Prom. It is a short and simple song for young children about travelling to the moon, that also demonstrates the different sections of the orchestra. It is designed to be picked up quickly by the audience, who can join in singing and with various actions. Each verse is scored for a particular section of the orchestra, which has a brief introduction.

1 - Strings/harp: One big mission

2 - Percussion: One huge rumble

3 - Woodwind: One vast view

4 - Brass: One giant leap

5 - Choir: One planet Earth

6 - All together

Duration: 4 mins
